Kyler was the first person I met that was also from Sulphur, Louisiana In Katy, Texas. I remember meeting him at Shafer elementary in 5th grade. We became close friends and goofed off all throughout middle school. We had to be separated in math class not once, but 3 times because Mrs. Castro thought we would have learned our lesson, clearly not. In high school we were both in Tompkins FFA and we shared many barn trips and judging contest memories. He lit up every room he was in always smiling and cracking jokes. I’m forever grateful for the memories we made together, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

There are things I could share about Kyler. I remember that day that Kyler was born. I was privileged to be there as their pastor of Mike, Tamra and Reagan.  What a precious time and event in the lives of Tamra, Mike, and Reagan. Kyler was a beautiful baby boy. Mike and Tamra were blessed to have two beautiful boys.  Tamra would watch our boy Michael, who became close to Regan and Kyler. They treated Michael as a brother. I remember a special moment at the Lacy’s home as we visited.  Kyler had on an Elvis outfit and was standing by the fireplace playing his guitar singing one of Elvis songs. Kyler we will miss you and keep you dear to our hearts. We know that you are with our Lord Jesus and

Kyler was the sweetest, kindest soul I knew in high school. My first true relationship and my biggest memory from my high school years. My first and only homecoming was with him. I have so many great memories that he gave me to look back on..high school functions, and going to the county fair. I feel so grateful to have known him and to have shared those memories with him. Sending love and prayers. 

Kyler was the sweetest boy I have ever met. My most recent memory of him was walking into school from the parking lot our senior year. It was raining so Kyler sped in front of me to grab the door and hold it for me. My earliest memory is when he first moved to Katy and meeting him in the lunch line. He was quieter at the time, but from his accent I could tell he wasn’t from Katy tx, but he never cared to fit in with the pop culture. He liked his boots and jeans, and he wasn’t changing. I admired him for that. He will be missed and loved, prayers go out to your family.

He is survived by his parents; brother, Reagan Lacy of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandparents, Louis Rousell and Nora Cooper of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Olin and Beverly Lacy of Longville, Louisiana; along with numerous cousins.


Kyler is preceded in death by his aunts and uncles, Nye Cooper and Trey Lacy, Katie Lacy Grimshaw, and Bettye and John Brown.
