Winona “Bill” Irene McKnight, 92, of DeQuincy, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Care Center of DeQuincy. She was born to her late parents, Earl and Grace Beeson on January 7, 1926 in Clifton, Kansas. She loved more than anything to take care of her family and adored her grandchildren. Bill was very active in her church, Hargrove Bible Baptist where she taught Sunday school, was the church pianist, and where she was involved in many church activities. She would house a lot of preachers when they would come down for Revivals.
She is survived by her son, Dennis McKnight, Sr. and wife Jackie of Oretta; two daughters, Rita Mazilly and husband Rodney, Sr., Patty VanWinkle and husband Bubba of DeQuincy; one sister, Earline Sterling of Clay Center, Kansas; 8 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, George McKnight, Jr.; two brothers, Wayne Beeson, Dwight Beeson; three sisters, Geneva Johnson, Nina Caldwell, Loraine Burnell; and a great granddaughter, Santana Miller.
Services will be held at 11:00am at Hargrove Bible Baptist Church on Friday, April 13, 2018 in Hargrove Settlement with Bro. Rodney Paul Mazilly and Bro. Harry Methvin officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Snider Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5:00-8:00pm. Visitation will resume at Hargrove Bible Baptist Church on Friday from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.
