Armando Vasquez Gutierrez

Born August 30, 1954, Armando was a humble man of incredible faith. He was passionate about God's Word and touched many lives through his preaching, teaching, as well as his nurturing fatherly ways. He devoted his life to prayer, and above all he served and loved The Lord with his whole heart. Second only to his relationship with God was his love for his beloved wife Maria and family, who he loved deeply and fiercely. He had a great sense of humor and he enjoyed cooking and was especially known for his authentic Mexican cuisine. Armando also liked to follow MSU sports, spend time gardening, reading, and talking to his dog, Lily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Consuelo (Vasquez) and Enrique Gutierrez, and his brother, Julio Gutierrez.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Maria (Ruiz); his children, Armando (Britney) Gutierrez Jr., and Julia Gutierrez; his grandchildren, Layla Montgomery, Armando Gutierrez III, Amad Montgomery, and Dominic Gutierrez; and his siblings, Guadalupe Gutierrez, Francisca Gutierrez, Maria Garcia, Lourdes Sanchez, Bertha Martinez; and so many others that were touched by his life.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 15th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt. A time of sharing will be held from 6:00-7:00 pm for anyone wanting to share memories or stories. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 16th at 11:00 am at Apostolic Assembly of Faith Church, 900 N. Waverly Rd., Lansing.

Memorial contributions may be made to the International Apostolic Bible College, which Armando and his wife directed for many years. Contributions may be mailed to, 11402 S. US Hwy 27, Dewitt, MI 48820, in care of Maria Gutierrez.
