

Doris “Dee” Kain, 66, of DeWitt, MI, peacefully joined the Lord with her family by her side on Friday, March 31, 2017. She was strong willed and fought a good fight. She was a compassionate, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Dee was dependable and always there to help and care for others and known by friends and co-workers as “Mama Dee”. Dee was born on June 12, 1950 to Phillip and Leah (Durfee) Hazelton in Lansing, MI. Dee is survived by the love of her life, husband, Kenneth Donald Kain of DeWitt, MI; children, Michelle (Kevin) Volker of Lansing, Michelle (Jason) Campbell of Owosso, Phillip (Jennifer) Fenby of Lansing, Troy (Nicole) Fenby of Webberville, Bobbi (Dustin) O’Brien of Chalmers, IN, Keri (Daniel) Rust of Lansing, and Shari (Shane) Spencer of Alma; 23 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special aunt, Jean Hellum; “sis” Shar (Glenn) Saxton of Wacousta MI; and Lisa Dones and family in Texas. Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Leah Hazelton; daughter, Helen Marie Kain Erb; and sister, Leona Standridge. Dee enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, and angels.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of DeWitt, 11068 S. DeWitt Rd., DeWitt, Michigan with Pastor Dan Wilkinson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow the service at Gunnisonville Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the family to help with the cost of memorial expenses.
