Ellen M. Wood

Ellen M. Wood, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in DeWitt, Michigan. She was born July 25, 1919 in Lansing, MI to Merle F. and Grace E. (Brush) Brown. She graduated from Central High School in Lansing and married Mylon “Mike” Wood. Together, they lived in Lansing, MI and Columbus, OH, before retiring to Gladwin, MI. Ellen loved to read and spend time outside at the cottage.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mylon “Mike” Wood, and her son, Gale Wood.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Richard (Alma) and Steven (Rita) Wood; her grandchildren, Rebecca Wood, David (Sue) Wood, Patricia (Zach) Ernst, Paul (Jenine) Wood, Sara (John) Olin, Ron (Stephanie) Wood, Greg (Chrissy) Wood, Michael Wood, and Samantha Wood; her 14 great-grandchildren; and her 1 great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington St., DeWitt. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
