Frances I. Smith Ellsworth

A tiny lady with a big heart and a lover of cats and dogs, passed away on October 19, 2010, at age 89, in Mason, MI. Frances was born July 3rd, 1921 to Arthur and Bessie Smith of Stockbridge. She married Lewis Ellsworth on June 23rd in 1945. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Ambrose of Mason, Vicki (Paul) Vermillion of Lansing; 7 grandchildren, Tim Ambrose, Jill (Justin) Reyhl, Brett Pierce (Shelly Covert), Brad (Brooke) Pierce, Lisa (Kip) Jones, Christina (Pat) Zopf, Amanda Vermillion (David Bordayo); 10 great grandchildren, Abigail and Allyson Pierce, Matthew and Kaitlyn Pierce, Brandon Jones, Dylan, Nicholas and Mallory Zopf, Macie Vermillion and soon to be born Aiden Bordayo; 2 sisters, Margaret Pelton of Munith, Jocille Smith of Stockbridge; brother Mark (Arloa) Smith of Stockbridge; sister-in-law Patricia Smith of Clark Lake; and her precious kitties, Boots and Billy Bob. She was pre-deceased by daughter, Margaret Ann; her husband; her parents; and brothers Leo and Arthur Smith. Her big heart and spirit made up for her small stature. She was generous with her love, especially for her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI with Rev. Charles Herrick officiating. Interment will follow at the DeWitt Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at the DeWitt Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A special thanks to her aides and nurses at Dimondale Rehab Center, and especially her at home caregiver Shelly Covert, and the staff at Craft Care Home in Mason.
