Fred Matheny

Age 78, born July 8, 1937 to Charles and Edith Matheny, died March 31, 2016. Fred enjoyed fishing, golfing and riding motorcycles. He liked to watch the tigers, football and MSU sports. Fred loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife, of almost 55 years, Janet; sons, Jeffrey (Kimberlee) Matheny, Thomas Matheny and Daniel Matheny; grandchildren, Anntrina, Kyle (Kendra) and Justyne (Ivan); great –grandchildren, Cameryn and Aiden; sister, Eileen Wynstra. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 6, at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Parish, 102 S., Randolph St., Lansing, with Father John Fain officiating. Interment will follow in the Gunnisonville Cemetery. The family will received friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E Washington, DeWitt, MI, on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a rosary being prayed at 7 pm on Tuesday.
