John F Hagy

DeWitt Township

John Hagy, age 84, died August 19, 2011. He was born January 25, 1927 in Saltville, Virginia. John moved to Lansing, Michigan after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for General Motors, Oldsmobile forge plant, until his retirement in 1987. John was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and neighbor. He was an active member of the Gunnisonville United Methodist Church until ill health no longer allowed him to participate in ongoing activities. John was a member of the Wacousta-DeWitt Masonic Lodge #359. Surviving are his loving wife Faye, his son John (Deborah) daughter Nancy (John) Yalonen; grandchildren Stephen (Erika) Hagy, David Hagy, Christopher Wellinger, Amanda Hagy, Brian (Amy)Waymire, Brandon (Katie) Waymire and great grandchildren Jillian and Johnathan Hagy, Parkes and Cash Waymire; brothers George Hagy Thomas (Lois) Hagy; sister Patricia Jury and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Noon Monday, August 22, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI with the Rev. Melvin Jamison officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Chapel. Burial will follow at the Gunnisonville Cemetery, DeWitt Township. Contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909-9986 in memory of Mr. Hagy.
