Kerwin was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Kerwin and Joan Meyer. He married Kathleen Bratkowski on June 21, 1974, in Imlay City, Michigan. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. A dedicated registered nurse for 38 years, Kerwin touched many lives through his compassionate care.
He was an active member of the Michigan Conservation Club, finding joy in the great outdoors. He loved painting, carving, hunting, fishing, and playing cards and games, and always savoring life by the lake. Above all, Kerwin was most proud of being a grandpa, a role he embraced with joy and admiration.
Kerwin is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; his son, Kristopher (Jessica) Meyer; and his cherished grandchildren, Finley, Harvard, and Oliver. He is also survived by his siblings-in-law, Susan Bratkowski, Nancy Bratkowski, Marcia (David) Anklam, Edward (Sharon) Bratkowski, and their families. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Meyer; and his parents, Kerwin Meyer and Joan Smith.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to University of Michigan Sparrow Specialty Hospital for the care and support they provided.
Three words that sum up Kerwin’s life mantra are “love your family.” Surely, Kerwin’s legacy of love and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
