Margaret F. Engelking

Lansing, Michigan

Age 77, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2010; born July 22, 1933 in Maspeth, New York. Miss Engelking devoted her life to caring for special needs and often forgotten children through volunteer work. The countless hours spent visiting, playing with and making treats for “her children” brought great joy to her. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. Surviving are her brother, Edward (Chuck) Engelking; nieces, Kathy (Dan) Hogg, Susan Schroeder, Lauren (Peter) Smirniotopoulos and Nancy Jeffrey; nephews, William Jeffrey, Chuck Jr., Darren and David Engelking; great-nieces and nephews, Casey, Nicholas, Courtney, Jeff, Jennifer, Anna, Erica and Elliott were the apples of her eye and she bragged about them to whomever would listen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 11:00 AM at Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt, MI with Rev. Dwight Ezop officiating. Family will receive friends Wednesday 10:30 AM at the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Catholic Community of St. Jude Dresser Ministry, which assists mothers with newborn infants, in memory of Miss Engelking.
