Marge E. Kovacic

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and day care provider, Marge spent her entire life caring for and serving others. The seventh of eight children born to George & Jean Robb, she was born in Howell, Michigan on November 25, 1957. She grew up on the family’s dairy farm and was active in 4-H, FFA and enjoyed cheerleading for the Fowlerville Gladiators.

In 1975 she met her husband Mike Kovacic at a youth leadership conference at Michigan State University and they were married on July 29, 1977. They began their life on the family dairy farm in partnership with her parents. In 1978, the couple moved to Charlotte and eventually settled in DeWitt when the oldest of their three sons entered elementary school. During their time in DeWitt, Marge was active in the Catholic Community of St. Jude, serving on numerous committees and assisting with parish life.

Her interests included family, gardening, reading, needlepoint and boating. She and Mike spent many summers exploring the great lakes on their boat “Escape”.

Marge is survived by her husband of 37 years, Mike; her son Joe (Mary Claire) and their two children Zoe & Mike of Madison, Wisconsin; Nicholas (Marie) and their daughter Shannon of Wheaton, Illinois and Stephen of Clawson, MI. She is also survived by five sisters, two brothers, 16 nieces & nephews and numerous “Marge’s kids” who were part of her extended day care family.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge Street in DeWitt. Family will receive friends one hour prior to mass on Friday and from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, also in DeWitt. The rosary will be prayed during the visitation at 8:30 p.m.
