The loves of his life were his wife Amber and children: Gracelyn, Keagan, Kinslee, and Hudson.
He was a protective older brother to Michael (Chelsea) Hoffer and caring uncle to: Joshua, Parker; “Uncle Taco” to: Taylyn, Isaiah, Amariano, Emilia, Masie, Rose & James. They all survive him as do Grandparents: Tom (Michelle) Gallagher, Nova Casler & Carol Daman; Aunts & Uncles: Diane (Kurt) Schurect, Duane (Marti) Hoffer, Carla (Dave) Litwiller, Joan (Ken) Martin; Cousins: Tiara (Ronnie) Schantz, Jordan (Heidi) Kindel, Kathryn (Bill) Norton, Myriah (Ethan) Burns, Shelby, Levi, Grace, Bryan and Nicholas Martin; Mother-in-law: Georgia Sanders, Father-in-law Charles (Kim) Andrews, Sister-in-law: Mary Andrews, Brothers-in-law: Brian Sanders, CR & James Andrews; Life-long Family Friends: G’ma Joyce Mesh, Uncles John & Joel Mesh, Aunt Jennifer (Chris) Kiel, Joshua Mesh, Elizabeth (Andrew) Rogers, Emily (Tyler) Malkin; as well as many Great & Great-Grand Aunts & Uncles & friends.
He was preceded in death by his cousin Tabitha Kindel, Grandfather Gayle Hoffer & G’pa Joseph Mesh.
Matthew learned his hard work ethic and knowledge of the construction trades working alongside his father and brother in the family business while growing up. He was extremely skilled in his trade. He liked to ride his dirtbike, play cards with friends and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge & love of fishing & hunting with his family & friends and would rarely be found without a fishing pole along… just in case he happened upon a body of water that he needed to test out.
Services will be held on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at the Dewitt Chapel of Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes at 205 E. Washington St. Dewitt, MI 48820. Visitation begins at 11am followed by the funeral at 1pm.
