

Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cindy Hogle; daughter, Heather (Vlad) Slapak; son, Rick (Crystal) Hogle; 5 grandchildren, Alex Slapak, Gwen Slapak, Vivian Hogle, Penelope Hogle, and Wesley Hogle; and sister, Roxanne (Jon) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Fern Hogle.
Mike was born on March 23, 1954 to Richard D. and Fern (Powers) Hogle in Lansing, Michigan and grew up in DeWitt, Michigan. He graduated from DeWitt High School and married his childhood sweetheart, Cindy, at the age of 19. After 27 years, Mike retired from the State of Michigan in 2002 where he worked for the Departments of Military Affairs, Corrections, and finally Management and Budget.
After retirement, Mike enjoyed driving and working on his 1951 John Deere MT and most recently his 1931 Model A. He especially liked spending time with his grandchildren as well as holiday weekend camping with the extended Hogle family. Mike was an avid traveler and some of his favorite trips included St. Thomas, Northern Michigan, Utah, and Hawaii. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed floating in the back yard pool. Mike was a self-taught fixer of just about anything and was the first person his family and friends would call when something went wrong.
A memorial service and celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel on Saturday, June 1st at 11 a.m. with a one-hour visitation starting at 10 a.m. Following the service, Mike will be laid to rest at the City of DeWitt Cemetery.
