

Patricia (Pat) Ann Price, DeWitt, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday April 19th following a 16 year battle with cancer. Patricia was born on September 3, 1937 in Cheboygan, Michigan to the late Alexander (Ollie) and Frances (Kozlowski) Modrak, graduating from Alpena Catholic Central in 1955. She married the love of her life, Duane “Ed” Price, on August 4, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alpena, Michigan. She spent the next 15 years supporting Ed while he served our Country in the United States Air Force. Upon his retirement in 1970, they settled in Herron Michigan where Pat devoted herself to the St. Rose of Lima Parish, teaching children the Liturgy. Her journey continued in 1981, when she moved to DeWitt. Pat sustained her faith as a devout Catholic upon joining The Catholic Community of St. Jude. She became part of the Women’s Association, The Quilting Ministry and the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Circle, where she met and bonded with so many faithful, devout, precious friends. Over the years, Pat enjoyed camping, sewing, crafting, hosting the Christmas Tea, spending her winters in Texas, and most of all, her loving family. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and son, Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 59 years; brother James (Sue) Modrak; children, Daniel (Laura) Price, Robert (Lisa) Price, Michael (Teresa) Price, and Kathleen (James) Richardson; grandchildren, Cynthia, Robin, Lisa (Rey) Jimenez, Dawn, Linda, Brett, Christopher (Laura), Nicholas, Matthew, Joseph, Lucas, Casey (Celeste) & Isabel Richardson; 9 great grandchildren along with several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge Street, DeWitt MI with Rev. Fr. Bob Irish as celebrant. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 21 at the church from 6-8 p.m., with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. A luncheon will follow. Final interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly Michigan at a later date. Contributions in memory of Pat may be directed to the cutting garden at The Catholic Community of St. Jude.
