Bob was born on March 30, 1955, in Grayling, Michigan. He grew up in Traverse City, Michigan, and later became a longtime resident of Lansing and DeWitt, where he built his life and raised his family.
Bob shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Mary Anne Park. Together they built a life centered on family. He was a proud and loving father to Julie (Nick) Fusi, Bill (Chelsea) Park, Tim (Rachel) Park, and Jeff (Brendan) Park. His greatest joy was being “Papa” to Hazel, Felix, Will, Griffin, and Bobby, who brought endless pride and happiness to his life.
He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Mo and Charlie Royal; his brothers Jon (Renee) Park, Tom Park, and Steve (Linda) Park; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Charles Frederick Park; his brother, Charles Park; his parents-in-law, Bill and Betty Curtin; his brother-in-law, Ken Curtin; and his nephew, Alex Krauss.
Bob spent his career in computer programming, embracing a field that reflected his sharp mind and natural problem-solving ability. He enjoyed golfing and actively followed both DeWitt and Michigan State sports. Though he spent most of his adult life in mid-Michigan, he loved Northern Michigan and all it had to offer, including Murdick’s black cherry fudge in Traverse City and spending time on the water in Charlevoix. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to Mother Teresa House in Lansing, whose compassionate care meant so much in his final days: https://motherteresahouse.org/?form=FUNXDCKRMYK
The family will be holding a private celebration of life with close friends and family at a later date.
