Robert served his country in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1992. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing.
Robert is survived by his sons, William (Linda) Taylor and Steven (Valarie Wireman) Taylor; grandchildren, Edward (Cherlle), Clinton (Danielle), Jeffrey, Lacy (Rich), and Laura (Alex); great-grandchildren, Ada, Zoe, and Dean; siblings, Shirley (Phil) Marshall, Jean (Delbert) Austin, and Ron (Mary) Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jean Taylor; son, Robert Charles Taylor; grandson, Nicholas James Taylor.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home DeWitt with Pastor Lloyd Williams officiating. Interment to follow with Military Honors at DeWitt Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 2-5 pm and an hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home on Monday.
