Sandra Nelsen

Sandra Lee Rosann Nelsen, 75, of Racine, Wisconsin, passed away April 20, 2022 in DeWitt, Michigan. Sandra, lovingly known as Sandy, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Edward and Pearl Falkner on January 2, 1947. She married Rodney Nelsen on March 13, 1965 and the two were married for 49 years.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Pearl; husband Rodney; and sister Rose. She is survived by her sister Linda Tzakis, brother Jim Nelsen; children Margie Nelsen, Judy Foss (Joe), Mike Nelsen, Jessica Cranley (Mike), Daniel Nelsen (Chris), Peter Nelsen, and Robert Nelsen (Amanda); grandchildren Dawn, David, Amy, Adam, Erika, Kyle, Toni, Leah, Daniel, Alyssa, Tyler, Zacchaeus, Madelynn, Luke, Bradley and Seth; and many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Sandy was the heart of St. Mary’s Hospital (All Saints) where she worked for 37 years in materials management until she retired in 2008. She was a lover of people, from her family to co-workers, church family, waitresses and everyone who crossed her path. Her joyful, contagious spirit was treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Friday, May 6th at 3pm at Racine Assembly of God (1325 Airline Rd, Racine WI 53406). The family invites you to join them for a meal directly following the service.
