Born on August 1, 1989 in Lansing, Michigan, he was the son of Thomas W. and Juanita N. (Palmer) Hovey.
Thomas W. Hovey Jr. was a kind, compassionate, dedicated father and fiancé who loved his children and family deeply. Tommy touched the lives of so many along the way with his unique sense of humor.
Tommy had a strong sense of commitment to the community and our nation, serving first as a probationary volunteer firefighter for Clinton Area Fire & Rescue in St. Johns, MI and then as an active duty member of the United States Army. Tommy received a number of commendations for his actions during his service in Iraq and the Philippines. Coming home, Tommy obtained certification as an ASE Master Auto Mechanic while obtaining dual associates degrees in Construction Management.
Thomas W. Hovey Jr. is survived by his parents, Tom and Juanita; siblings, Suzi and Joey (Maddy); his fiancée, Aleya; his children, Nicholas, Carter, Jason, Kaiya, Milo and Luna; niece, Brielle; and his Opa Robert. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Naida, Billie, Betty and Jim.
