

Wendell Frank Grove of Lansing, born September 20, 1923 to Frank and Cecilia (Navarre) Grove, passed away March 24, 2015 at the age of 91. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Wendell served in the US Army during World War II and was a POW for 18 months. After his service he owned Grove’s All Car Service for 35 years. After selling the business he went to work for General Motors in skilled trades. Wendell and his family loved to travel all over the US and Canada. When Wendell married Maxine, his wife of 67 years, he found the missing link and together they had a wonderful life. They loved to ballroom dance and won awards for this. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Maxine; daughters, Wendellyn Dane and Deborah (Bill) Lowe; son, Randell (Tina) Grove; grandchildren, Jackie Dean, Corey Dean, Heather (Shaun) Davis, Jason (Sandra) Lowe and Nicole Grove; step-grandchildren, Don Reese, Fred and Hunter Frederickson; and great-grandchildren, Marianne Dean, Alexandria Dean, Danielle Davis, Sara Lowe and William Davis; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Gorsline Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington in DeWitt. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, at the funeral home.
