Claiborne, affectionately known as Uncle June, was a lifelong resident of Brusly McCall. He retired from Earline Gomez Farm, but never stopped working. He continued his love for the land by creating large gardens for every season. He was known for his generosity and gave away almost everything he produced. People who visited him never left without a dozen eggs, okra, or whatever vegetable was growing in the garden he loved so much.
Uncle June never met a stranger. Everyone he met loved him for his gentle and kind ways. Whether he was on his daily trip to Wal Mart, at the pharmacy, or the grocery store, he would always strike up a conversation with someone who would later become a friend.
Uncle June loved taking rides on his 4 wheeler with his beloved Kat. They would visit with everyone in the Brusly, often stopping to give a little one a dollar, lending a helping hand, or simply dropping off some fresh vegetable.
Claiborne Medine was committed to his family and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Tony Martinez, and his brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Valerie Medine and his longtime companion, Kathy Brocatto.
