Donald Francis Landaiche, Sr., a caring husband, father and grandfather left to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4th, 2024 at the age of 94. He was a native and resident of Donaldsonville. Donald professed his faith in song as an active member of the church choir, played the organ, taught piano, and adored traveling with his wife, Hilda.
He is survived by three children Donnie Landaiche (Vickie), David Landaiche and Marcy L. Pelotto; three stepchildren, Camille “Rocky” Russo, III (Pat), Scott Russo (Joni) and Monique R. Ourso (David). He was known as “Grumpy” to ten grandchildren, Camille “Jay” Russo, IV (Darie), Katie Rouillier (Jeffrey), Luke Ourso (Michalyn), Jordan Russo (MJ), Cassidy Russo (Jennifer), Courtney Naquin (Jonathan), Chelsea Obney (Justin), Matthew Ourso (Jacie), Carrie Landry and Sarah LeCompte (Scott); eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean I. Landaiche and Nancy P. Landaiche; wife, Hilda D. Landaiche; sisters, Jeanne Marie Veron, Hermence Guillot, Margaret Joffrion, Anne Goldsborough and Nancy Kleis; brothers, Bert Landaiche, James Landaiche and Paul Landaiche; and grandson, Jarred M. Russo.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, LA on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Ascension Catholic Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and great-grandson, Owen Ourso. The family would like to thank the outpouring of visitors in his last moments, OLOL ICU, Baton Rouge Hospice, especially Candace, and the staff at Ascension Oaks.
