

Dora was born on July 14th, 1950, to Joseph Dugas and Lelia Sanchez Dugas of Brusly St. Martin. She married James Causin of Donaldsonville on September 12th, 1970. Dora then lived in Donaldsonville for 34 years, building a family and raising her daughters there. In 2004 Dora and her husband moved to Gonzales to be closer to family and help raise her granddaughter, Leah.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, James Causin, as well as daughters Dawn Causin Smith, Stacey Causin, and her “favorite” granddaughter Leah Brazan. Mrs. Dora is also survived by four siblings: Jerry Dugas, Alton Dugas, Dennis Dugas, and Doris Dugas Hebert.
She is preceded in death by parents Joseph and Lelia Dugas, as well as siblings Lana Rivet, Nelson Dugas, and Irvin “Pete” Dugas.
A visitation will be held in her honor at 8:30 am on Wednesday, December 4th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Internment will be in the Ascension of our Garden Mausoleum within the Ascension Catholic Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Dora was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the rock that her family leaned on and a truly caring person. She fought a long battle with cancer and her family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who cared for her.
