She enjoyed watching sports, especially football and basketball, and was an avid reader. She loved playing cards and going to the casino with friends.Enola worked at the St. James Sugar Co-op for many years as a secretary. She was active in the church as a Christian Mother. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and her two grandkids who were her heart. Many described her as being a very strong-willed person and an inspiration.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Sharon Hymel (Cliff); brother, Craig Boudreaux (Ilene), and two grandchildren, Alicia and Brent Hymel. She is preceded in death by her parents; Sidney and Lorena Boudreaux; loving husband, Lawrence Matherne; stepmother, Margaret Boudreaux; three brothers Roy, Sidney Jr. "Coonie" and Carl Boudreaux.
She left this world with her daughter, son-in-law and long time friend by her bedside. Family would like to thank Chateau D'ville and Cardinal Hospice for her final care.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church. Inurnment to follow in the church mausoleum. Father Michael O'Rourke will be officiating.
