
Marie Alleman Ruiz passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at age 90, after a lengthy and brave battle with dementia. Mary was born on Feb. 22, 1922, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Napoleonville, La. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Marie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Lois Anne Landry Ruiz, Donald and Patricia Spagnola Ruiz, Faye Theriot Ruiz, seven grandchildren, Amanda Ruiz Hymel (Tre’), Melissa Ruiz Terrell (Matt), Ericka Ruiz Diez (Andy), Tony Ruiz (Katie Seymour), Carmen Ruiz, Kristal Ruiz Hebert (Randy), and Vincent Ruiz, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Mrs. Roland Ourso (Stella) and Edna Giroir of Donaldsonville, Mrs. Wesley Hernandez (Della) of Paincourtville, and one sister-in-law Evelyn Rousseau Alleman of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Vincent “Pat” Ruiz, a son, Ronald Ruiz, Sr., a grandson Ronald Ruiz, Jr., three brothers, Harding Alleman, V. J. Alleman, and Herman Alleman, and her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Veleor Joseph Alleman.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Smoke Bend on Friday, February 15, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Paul Yi. Interment to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice and please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, especially when you see beautiful flowers.

The Ruiz and Alleman family are grateful for the kindness and love that has been shown to them during this difficult time.
