Adalberto V. Mayorga a long time resident of the Norwalk/Bellflower area passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at the age of 79. Born in Monte Escobedo, Zacatecas, Mexico on June 5, 1935, he immigrated to the U.S at the age of 19 by himself, in search of a better life, encountering many perils and obstacles on his journey. He married Noemi Llamas in 1962 and was blessed with three children. He started his career as a dishwasher at Universal Studios, then, went on to get hired as an apprentice aircraft assembly mechanic with Northrop Aircraft Corporation. He eventually worked his way up to master aircraft mechanic at Northrop Grumman, retiring after 27 years. He spent his retirement with friends, going to the beach, tinkering with his tools and assisting anyone in need of help with rides, moving assistance, money or guidance. He was very service oriented, generous and giving. Most of all, he relished the time he could spend with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Adalberto is survived by his wife Noemi, his three children, Adalberto, Ada and Kenneth and his six grandchildren, Melissa, Kristin, Ashley, Brian, Sebastien and Vivienne and two great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Jensen. He will be greatly missed.
