Christopher Conrad Lueke, 49, lifetime resident of Downey, California entered the light of eternal life on May 2, 2012, after a 7 year battle with multiple myeloma. He spent his last days at home surrounded by family, experiencing his finest moment of grace 5 days earlier when he walked his daughter down the aisle and danced at her wedding.
A dedicated family man, Chris met the love of his life, Monica Madrazo, and married her 25 years ago at St. Raymond's Catholic Church. Together, they grew in faith and raised their children, Krista Masotto and Scott Lueke to seek strength and guidance in that faith. His joy came from teaching them the best life lessons, especially how to love.
Besides being remembered as the best husband ever and a great dad, his friends will remember him as a computer guru who loved to fish and to cook. They could always count on him to help when needed and bring his contagious humor and heartfelt wisdom. Large annual vacations to Mammoth where he usually caught his limit and Yosemite in February with large groups of family and friends were sources of renewal, relaxation and fellowship for him. He will be sorely missed by his mother, Joan Lueke, son-in-law, Nick Masotto, siblings, Danette and John Buckley, Laura and Gary Kramer, Barbara Brooks-Mall, Stephen Lueke, his mother-in-law, Monica Pasquel, and his canine companion, Benny. They take comfort knowing his late father, Conrad Lueke, was there to greet him.
Chris was born October 11, 1962 and after graduating from Warren High and Cerritos College, he worked at K T Electronics and the Port of Long Beach as an IT manager. His earthly life will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 8th at 4 p.m. at St. Raymond's, where he was active in church programs and received spiritual guidance and support all of his wonderful life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to City of Hope, designated for treatment of myeloma patients, in appreciation for the help Chris received from their caring staff.
