Hendrika Dena Milner

Hendrika Dena Milner (Suwyn) was born June 30, 1929 in Denver, Colorado. She was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, her loving Savior and Lord, on June 19, 2024 , two weeks shy of her 95th birthday. She was a long-time resident of Long Beach, Ca. Hendrika was called “Driks or Drika” by her family, and she was given the nickname Trixie by a friend when she was young. Those names stuck with her.

She met her husband, Clyde, while working at a Woolworths Department store. They married on December 24, 1949. After residing in Utah for a short time they moved back Denver, Colorado where they welcomed their son Larry. Tired of the winters, they moved to Gardena, California where they welcomed their son Rick and their daughter Carol. Then came a move to Carson, California where they welcomed daughter Debra. They resided in Carson until 1979 when they moved to Long Beach.

Trixie was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was her grandchildren’s #1 fan and attended as many of their activities as possible. She loved spending time with family, as was evidenced by the many Sunday dinners she hosted with her brothers and their families and later her children and grandchildren.

Trixie loved Jesus and her faith in Him was evident in her daily life and unconditional love for others. She loved going to church and was very involved in Bible Studies, choir, and serving weekly dinners. She shared her love of Jesus with her children, grandchildren, and those around her.

Trixie was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, her 4 brothers and her grandson Mitchell. She will be missed by her 4 children Larry (Karen) Milner, Rick (Linda) Milner, Carol (Randy) Halma and Debra (Peter) Klaver, 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren (and 2 more on the way), many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her.

A Graveside Service for Hendrika will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.

A Memorial Service for Hendrika will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Long Beach Christian Reformed Church, 5559 E Wardlow Rd, Long Beach, CA 90808.
