AVIS DE DÉCÈS

James Gerhard Streetz

16 juillet 1937 – 30 septembre 2025
Avis de décès de James Gerhard Streetz
AUX SOINS DE

Miller Mies Downey Mortuary

James “Jim” G. Streetz, 88, of Bellflower, California, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025.

Born July 16, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Jim proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962 as Military Police. After his service, he worked as a security guard, worked for Robertshaw, while also pursuing multiple business ventures.

Jim loved the stock market, classic westerns, online gaming, and especially watching sports — a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jim was protective and loyal and was highly respected by his neighborhood.

Over 20 years ago, Jim and his true love, Deanna Birdsong, first met on Pogo.com, an online gaming and chatting platform that brought them together and inspired Deanna to travel across the country to California to join him for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his true love, Deanna Birdsong; his brother, Larry Streetz (Beryl); and the children he lovingly embraced as his own — Tara Sellers (Patrick), Roger Brown Jr., Susan Brown, John Brown (Linda), and Cindy Carrillo. He also leaves behind grandchildren Jaydin Casteel, Ryan Griffiths, Takita Kayle Bovitz (Nickolas), Joey Carrillo, Emory Lay, and Rese Brown; as well as great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Edwin Streetz, along with Anna Gould, Jesse Carrillo, and Greg Carrillo.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. The family invites everyone to honor Jim’s memory in their own special way — by sharing a story, watching a Dodgers game, or spending time with loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to The Headstrong Project
