Joe Anne May Painter

Joe Anne May Painter was born April 29, 1932 to Margaret and Howard Fox of Fulton, New York. She attended the Fulton schools and met Lawrence Keith Painter in her senior year of high school. They were married June 10, 1950. In July of 1951 they welcomed their first child Terry Margaret and two years later a son Lawrence Keith Painter Jr. In the spring of 1955 they loaded up their little family in the family station wagon and began the long move to California. They eventually settled in Norwalk, CA. During these early years Joe Anne was the homemaker and Keith was the breadwinner. In October of 1963 a third son, Robert Donald, was born into the family. Joe Anne went to work in the early 1970’s for the Bellflower Unified School District as the Adult School secretary. She eventually moved to Mayfair High School where she spent the remainder of her 25 years as a school secretary.

During their married life Joe Anne and Keith took numerous trips across the country with their family to visit relatives in New York. They enjoyed vacations in Hawaii, Mexico, and a cruise to Alaska.

They were blessed with six grandchildren Phillip, Larry III, Amanda, Karen, Corey, and Allyson. They also had three great grandchildren, Tyler, Allen, and Noah
