Born Laurence Dean Lockhart on the 25th of February, 1952 in Teaneck, New Jersey to Louis Vernon Lockhart and Mildred Frances Morell Lockhart. Over the years, Larry has also been fondly known as “La", "Cuddles”, “Lorenzo”, “Tar Baby”, “Bacigalupe” and “Chin”.
On the morning of the 11th of February, 2015 Larry took his last breath on Earth. His transition was peaceful and full of love. He left us as he lie basking in the warm sun in Southern California while his beloved wife Vicki sat by his side.
We cannot live forever…Accepting this made our witnessing his transition a powerful experience that was full of love, passion, and beauty! Larry gave us – his family and friends – his final gift of awareness of his coming departure. We all seized the opportunity to express our love and gratitude for him and to let him know how he touched all of us in his own unique way.
Larry is survived by his wife Vicki Linn Lockhart; his children Laurie Lockhart, Kena Lockhart Adams, Larz Dylan Lockhart, and James Dean Lockhart, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; siblings Sharon Herkes Lockhart, (John Herkes), William Allen Lockhart, Denise Lockhart Bush and (William Gordon Bush); Brother-in-law Mike Williams and (Denise Williams); nieces and nephews Lori, Derek, Nate, Kara, Alycia, James, and Dane.
And predeceased by his father Louis Vernon Lockhart, mother Mildred Frances Morell; his father-in-law Jim Williams, and brother-in-law Jamie Williams.
To honor one of Larry’s final requests, he would like for us to remember him as his vibrant, strong, funny, and party animal self!
AFTERGLOW
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when the day is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave behind when day is done.
