We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Anita Wetterauer after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 85. Lovingly with her family by her side, the Lord welcomed her with open arms to her new heavenly home. Predeceased by her mother and father, Elsa and Fritz Dreschler, brothers Reinhard and Helmut from Germany and her beloved son, Andrew Wetterauer. Deeply missed by her loving husband Hermann, dear daughter Petra (Ron), cherished grandchildren James (Melissa), Daniel (Amy), Julie (Chris), Jenna (Moe) and her five beautiful great grandchildren – Jacob, Violet, Nash, Della, and Enzo.
Anita came to Canada from Germany in 1957. In Canada, she has worked for Milli, owned her own hat shop and worked for many years as a dedicated employee of Denninger’s creating the most beautiful gift baskets and displays. She had an impeccable sense of style and an eye for making everything beautiful. She cooked the most delicious food and always set a nice table in true German tradition. Omi loved to bake cookies and cakes, especially with her family. Her greatest joy was her family, and we have many fond memories of time spent at the beach and celebrating holidays and birthdays with her. Omi, you will be greatly missed. Until we meet again.
Due to Covid Restrictions, the Funeral Service will be held privately, however you are invited to follow the link to the Livestream on Friday, January 29th at 1pm.
