Catherine Thomson

Catherine was born and raised in Toronto by Scottish immigrants Archibald Donaldson from Glasgow and Mary Donaldson (nee Campbell) from the Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Catherine attended Patterson Presbyterian Church and Oakwood Collegiate as did her future husband Richard Forbes Thomson. They were married in 1939 and Dr. Thomson was a Presbyterian minister serving congregations in Acton, Guelph at St. Andrews and Hamilton at both McNabb and St Paul's before his death in 1987. Catherine is survived by her daughters Lois (John Miles) and Mary Jane and son Richard. Catherine is fondly remembered by her grandchildren Krista, Steven, Barbara, Jennifer, Emily, Carly and Holly. Another generation of great-grandchildren Julia, Alex, Milo, Dilys, Joseph and Evan will learn of her kindness, generosity and concern for others when they are older. A funeral service for Catherine will be held at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 70 James Street South (corner of James and Jackson), Hamilton, on Wednesday February 6th, 2013 at 11 am, with visiting 1 hour prior.
