A beloved son, he will be greatly missed by his mother, Meta. He was predeceased by his father, Reginald Cooper. Hal will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Mary Sharpe (Len). Hal was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews and their families, especially Sharon Reed (David), Daniel Duff (Bonnie), Stephanie Sharpe, Elizabeth Havrlant (David), as well as his aunt Terry in Toronto and many cousins both here and in Germany. Loved by his American relatives, Vivian and Rob Shaw and family in San Clemente California, and Debbie and Jerry Conelley from Chicago.
Hal graduated from the University of Waterloo in Engineering specializing in the HVAC field, spending his last 30 years with CIMCO Refrigeration.
In his free time, he loved all sports but especially golf. His greatest passion was reserved though, for his favourite vehicle, his Aston Martin. He and Elly spent many happy weekends cruising through the country-side to fabulous destinations. They also enjoyed fine wines in their travels to wonderful countries over the years.
Hal was a true and steadfast friend. Those lucky enough to know him will miss his calm determination and wickedly sharp sense of humour. He was a great story-teller, many featuring one of the three standard schnauzer companions he had over the years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Aljama, Dr. Sussman, and Wendy for their excellent care.
Visitation will be held at Marlatt Funeral Home 195 King Street West, Dundas on Friday, July 7 from 6-8 pm and Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, July 8 at 1`pm.
