

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Helen on September 21, 2023, in her 88th year. As an avid traveller, she passed away doing what she enjoyed, travelling the world while making memories.
Predeceased by her father and mother, Marie and John McNamara, brothers John (Jack) Francis and Alphonsus (Al) Michael, her sister-in-law MaryAnn, her brother-in-law Michael, her niece Teresa and nephews Brian and Paul. Survived by her sister Mary Boyle, her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and her Aunt Halvetta (Dutch) Kelly. She will also be missed by her many friends.
Helen was a retired teacher with the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic School Board for 30+ years and active in the community helping all those she met. She was also a long-term parishioner of St. Augustine’s Parish. Helen was a member and the current past president of the Catholic Women’s League. Her life was guided by her dedication to the Catholic faith. She will be fondly remembered for her love of her cats, travel, puzzles, and books.
Visitation will be held at Marlatt Funeral Home “Swackhammer Chapel”, 195 King Street West, Dundas, Ontario on Wednesday October 4th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas, Ontario at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday October 5th, 2023. The funeral mass can be viewed live on the funeral home’s website at www.marlattfhdundas.com. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Cremation and Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Centres would be appreciated by the family. Family and friends are invited to sign Helen’s online Book of Condolence at www.marlattfhdundas.com.
