It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Toomey, in his 87th year, on Monday, October 7, 2013. John leaves behind a loving and attentive wife of 56 years, Margaret. Predeceased by his sisters Mae, Edna, Alice, Sadie, Dorothy, and survived by his sister Shirley, and their families. Uncle to Gary, Kevin, Jennifer, Aaron, Ian, Myles and Mackenzie. Special thanks to the staff at Shalom Village and St. Joseph’s Hospital for all their care and compassion. At John’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Firestone Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, 50 Charlton Avenue East Hamilton, Ontario L8N 4A6.
