This beloved eldest son was predeceased by his parents, Ken (2018) and Trudy (2019) Mills. Dear brother of Kathy (Ed); Colleen (George); John (Pat); Mark (1984) and Joel (Diane). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family and community friends. Kenny never forgot the four-legged “love of his life”, Bessie. He was born in Hamilton in May of 1953 and grew up in Westover. He was a dedicated hard working guy all his life, employed at Sherwood Farms, and Flamboro Downs. Ken never strayed far from home and despite his life long hearing impairment, he was able to really enjoy so many leisure activities. He was very involved in local minor baseball and hockey teams – “A Real McCoy” – given the nickname “THUNDER” of which he was extremely proud. Contrary to the rest of his family, Ken was a lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadians. He enjoyed community card parties, and a competitive game of cribbage. He learned to play guitar and loved family sing-alongs. He was very passionate about movies and amassed a huge collection of DVD’s. “Happiness” for Ken was shopping at the Dollar Store for snacks and word search puzzle books. In his younger years, he belonged to Cadets at the Dundas Armouries and later was a proud and enthusiastic member of the Rockton Lions Club.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Marlatt Funeral Home, 195 King Street West, Dundas 905-627-7452. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A dedication interment at Westover Cemetery will follow in May.
To honour Ken’s life, donations may be given to the Rockton Lions Club or St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas where he received exceptional care for the past year and a half for which our family is forever grateful.
Condolences and fond memories can be shared with the family via the guestbook at www.marlattfhdundas.com
