On June 13, 2015, at the age of 103 Millie passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga. Millie was 18 when she immigrated to Canada from Poland, during the Great Depression. Here she met her beloved husband of 69 years, Michael (deceased). Together, the two built a family and a life that they cherished everyday. Millie was a loving mother to Dorothy Dacyshyn and the late Jessie Wareham, loving, proud and devoted Baba to Christine (Brian), Gregory (Anne-Marie), Laura, Mardi, Jacquie (John), Joe (Alison), and Michael (April). She is also survived by her brother John Dlugosz and 9 great-grandchildren. A private family service took place on Friday followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery.
