Ronald Joseph McCarthy

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Joseph McCarthy, most beloved father, papa, brother, uncle and friend at the Hamilton General Hospital with his family by his side. Pre-deceased by wife, Peggy McCarthy and parents Joe & Cora McCarthy. Always kind, considerate and truly loving, Ron will be forever missed by his children Lorraine Kyle & husband, Ken; Ron McCarthy & wife, Wendy; Jackie McCarthy & husband, Brad Quinlan; Kellie Crow & husband, Dave. Adored beyond words by his loving granddaughters - Lindsay, Crystal (& husband Blaine), Ashlie (& husband Jason), Samantha, Nicole, Megan, Brittney, Angie and Maggie, and great-grandchildren Chase, Rhyan, Charlie, Harrison and Kylee. Ron is survived by his siblings Joan Petito & husband Harry; Pat Chodak; Joe McCarthy & wife Helen; Rick McCarthy and cousin Pat Kowal & husband Ralph. An upstanding citizen and pillar of the Dundas community, Ron was responsible for implementing the Darts transportation service and played a lead role in organizing annual MS fundraisers, was one of the founders of the Dundas Hockey School and spent many years coaching youth hockey. Ron was a lifelong member of the Hamilton Airforce Club and was an established State Farm Agent for 40 years. Ron touched numerous lives in such a gentle, positive way and will be terribly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hamilton General Hospital, specifically Nurse Joanne and the Critical Care staff. Visitation will be held at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Saturday, October 17th from 1 pm to 4 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Marlatt Dundas Chapel (same address) on Sunday, October 18th, 2015 at 1 pm.
