Alice M. (dingee) Palumbo

Alice M. (Dingee) Palumbo, 99, of East Hartford, loving wife of the late John J. Palumbo, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, (November 19, 2009) at the Fox Hill Nursing Home in Rockville. Born in Clark Summit, PA on November 17, 1910, a daughter of the late George and Nellie Dingee, she had been a resident of East Hartford for over sixty years prior to going into Fox Hill six years ago. Alice was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co., East Hartford for many years prior to going to work at Royal Typewriter in Hartford, where she retired from after twenty years of dedicated service. Alice was a long-time member of Crossroads Community Cathedral in East Hartford. Besides her beloved husband and parents, Alice was predeceased by a son, Joseph J. Palumbo of East Hartford. Alice is survived by her beloved daughter, Joanne A. Noch and her husband, Albert, of Tolland; a daughter-in-law, Loreen R. Palumbo of East Hartford; four special grandchildren, Laurie Vonasek and her husband, Douglas, of Stafford Springs, Linda Marchessault and her husband, Stephen, of Rutland, MA, Jodi Palumbo of East Hartford, Kimberly Williams and her husband, Arthur, of East Hartford; six adored great-grandchildren, Stephen, Sarah, Erika, Kyle, Joey, and Ashlyn; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday (November 23rd) at 11 a.m., at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday morning from 10-11 am.
