Anna Maria (Amico) Leo, 92, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, died on Saturday, March 18, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Leo who passed away just before their 45th wedding anniversary in 1992. Anna was born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 2, 1925 to the late Frank and Josephine (Mazzada) Amico. She will sadly be missed by the true love of her life, Gypsy, her precious kitty. No matter how weak or tired she was, Anna was always ready to go shopping and never left the house without looking like she was ready to paint the town. In her free time Anna focused on her flowers and her Christmas Cactus outshined all of them. She was a very spiritual person and cherished her time spent with her Rosary group at church. Anna will be remembered for many things but most of all it was for the love she had for her family and especially her kids. She devoted all of her life to raising them with the love that only a mother could give.
In addition to her kitty, she will be missed by her six children; Lucille Dubois and her husband James of Walpole, Mass; Josephine “JoAnne” Leitao and her husband Richard of Granby; Marianne Leo of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Frank Leo and his companion Terry of Mass; Gerald Leo and his wife Donna of Boxford, Mass; and Stephen Leo and his wife Debra of Staunton, VA; her beloved grandchildren, Daniel Dubois, James and his sister Amber Leitao, Alexis Altman and her brother Frank Leo, Alex and his sister Nicole Leo, and Michael and his brother Frankie Leo; four great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Emily, Savannah, Addison; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents, Anna was predeceased by her son Joseph Leo eight months ago, a granddaughter Anna Dubois, and all of her brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be Friday (March 24th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford.
