Antonio Stagnaro

Antonio Alejandro Stagnaro (Antolin), 85, of East Hartford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born in Callao, Peru, he was the son of the late Alejandro and Clotilde (Salazar) Stagnaro. Prior to retirement Antonio worked as a machinist at the Callao port in Peru. He proudly served in the armed forces in Peru. Antonio was a member of CCTM (Comision Controladora del Trabajo Maritimo). He was a communicant of the former St. Rose Church of North American Martyrs Parish, East Hartford. In his free time, Antonio enjoyed cooking, listening to music, watching boxing and dancing salsa. He was an avid fan of the Sport Boys del Callao (La misilera). Most of all, he was a devout husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Antonio is survived by his cherished wife of 60 years, Emerita (Ramos) Stagnaro, and their 6 children; Lucero Stagnaro and her husband Juan Carlos of Callao-Peru; Antonio Stagnaro and his wife Alida of East Hartford; Angelica Stagnaro and her husband Luis Rivera of Florida; Giuseppe Stagnaro and his wife Janet of Callao-Peru; Julio Stagnaro of East Hartford; Ricardo Stagnaro of East Hartford. Twelve adored grandchildren; Evelyn, Geraldin, Lady, Alex, Juan Carlos, Karina, Gabriela, Johan, Ecaterina, Naiara, Luis, and Giordano. Eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Along with his parents, Antonio is predeceased by his seven siblings.

A funeral service to honor Antonio’s life will be held on Friday, August 22 at 4 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral chapel prior to the service from 2-4 pm. Burial will happen on Monday, August 25th at 11 am at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
