Betty D. (Daly) Peloso, 78, of South Windsor, passed away peacefully after her valiant battles with cancer on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hartford on June 18, 1938, to the late John and Mary (Fenton) Daly, Betty leaves this earthly world having deeply touched so many people. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives and she will be sorely missed. Her first passion and priority was always her family. Nothing gave her greater joy than to spend time with family, especially her beloved granddaughters.
Betty worked as a nurse at Hartford Hospital for many years. Later in her career, as one of the original staff at the hospital’s Palliative Care Unit, Betty found her true calling. It was there that she cared for countless patients and their families with an unsurpassed degree of compassion and love before retiring.
She is survived by her loving sons John R. Peloso III and his wife Lisa; Michael V. Peloso and his wife Brenda; and grandchildren Kelsey and Marissa. She also leaves her sister Mary T. Daly, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Joan D. Brown, and her brother John B. Daly.
Funeral service will be Saturday (September 24, 2016) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 am at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor. (The family asks that everyone please go directly to the church on Saturday morning). Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, (Section 16), Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Relatives and friends may call at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Friday (September 23, 2016) from 4-7 pm.
