Carla Riccio

Carla Denise (Redden) Riccio, 69, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Born on January 6, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Dennis C. Redden Jr. and Annie Laurie (Maxwell) Redden. Carla was a resident of West Hartford for most of her life and graduated from Conard High School. After high school, Carla attended Colby Sawyer College, New Hampshire and then Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. Prior to retirement, Carla worked as a financial assistant for many years at the Bell Simons Companies, a family owned HVAC business. Carla had a profound appreciation for nature and animals. She cherished the time she had with her previous dogs and her husband. In her free time, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She had a passion for New England, from the woods of New Hampshire to the beaches of Rhode Island. Carla was a very caring person and tended to care for others first before herself. Most importantly, family meant everything to her and she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Carla is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Michael J. Riccio of Glastonbury and a cherished sister Katie (Redden) Zodda of Florida, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is predeceased by three siblings; Virginia Boland, Elizabeth Kurtz, and Dennis C. Redden III.

A memorial service to honor Carla’s life will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 11:30 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St. East Hartford. There are no calling hours.
