

Cheryl Ann (Magnani) Seery, 58, of Rocky Hill, loving wife of James T. Seery, passed away with her caring husband and family by her side on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at her home after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Hartford on July 14, 1965, a daughter of Gerald T. Magnani and Antoinette Jacqueline (Perez) Magnani, she resided in Granby for many years prior to moving to the Wethersfield/Rocky Hill area 28 years ago. Cheryl was a graduate of Granby High School, class of 1983. After high school she graduated from the Creative School of Hairdressing in Wethersfield where she earned her Cosmetologist certificate. After cosmetology school, she spent many enjoyable years working alongside her father at Magnani Press in Hartford.
Cheryl was a member of the Wethersfield/Rocky Hill B.P.O.E. Lodge #2308 where she was a bartender for several years with an allegiance to “her regulars”. Cheryl was an avid, loyal fan of the New York Giants and had several memorabilia from the team, including a photograph of her meeting Lawrence “LT” Taylor. She loved all holidays, but Christmas had a special place in Cheryl’s heart. She loved decorating her home with over 70 Santa Claus figures she had collected. She also collected dolls and was an animal lover, especially of her dog Morgan.
Cheryl will be most remembered for being a very loving, caring, and generous woman to everyone she knew and would always put everyone else first over herself. Family meant everything to Cheryl exemplified by her being a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and proud grandmother to her two adored grandchildren.
Along with her beloved husband Jim, Cheryl is survived by a son, Christopher A. Kennedy and his wife Brittany of Milton, FL; a daughter, Jessica A. Kennedy and her significant other, Domenick DePaolis of Berlin; and two cherished grandchildren, Hunter and Skylar DePaolis both of Berlin. She also leaves her father, Gerald Magnani of Granby; her mother, Antoinette Magnani of Granby; two special sisters, Kimberly A. Cushing and her husband Paul of Agawam, MA, Patti-Jo McDonald and her husband Timothy of Granby; a nephew, Gregory Petit and his wife Caroline; four nieces, Emily O’Neill and her husband Mark, Molly Petit, Ally McDonald, Gracey McDonald; her best friend of over 30 years, Elaine Christian and her husband Jay of Wethersfield; several cousins, former customers, and dear friends.
Cheryl’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday (July 18, 2024) from 3 – 5 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. A celebration of Cheryl’s life with a prayer service will follow at 5 pm at the funeral home chapel.
