

Christine Durrer, 59, of East Hartford, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born in San Francisco, CA on March 4, 1957, she is the beloved daughter of the late Alois Remigi Durrer and Margaret Gertrud (Steiger) Durrer. Christine received her MBA from California State University, Sacramento and her BA from University of California, Davis. She was the owner of Home Care Assistance of Greater Hartford, LLC. She was the former Chairman of the East Hartford Hockanum River Commission. As chairman she organized clean-up activities, the river boat races and “making things happen.” She was also President of the Swiss Club of CT. She loved her homeland of Switzerland and enjoyed hiking, walking, camping, vacationing at beach resorts and spending time with her many friends. Christine will be dearly missed by her sister, Beatrice Durrer of San Mateo, CA; her friend, Don Moore; several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in Switzerland; many extended family members and friends throughout the world and her many feline friends.
A Memorial Service celebrating Christine’s life will be held on Saturday (May 14) at 11:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Family and friends may call prior to the service, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Silver Lane Cemetery on Monday May 16 at 10:00 a.m. Donations in Christine’s memory may be made to Our Companions Animal Rescue, P.O.
