Deogracias 'David' Santiago, 56, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Uilma (Kuilan) Santiago, passed away Monday (February 23, 2009). He was born August 1, 1952, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of Luz Maria (Batiz) Santiago of Ponce, Puerto Rico and the late Mario Santiago. David was employed by Permasteelisa in Windsor. He was a very artistic man and enjoyed drawing and wood carving. Including Uilma, his wife of 33 years, David is survived by a son David Santiago Jr. and his fiancee Leesa Russell of Hartford; four daughters, Wanda Robles and her husband Steven of New York, NY, Kyra Santiago and her fiance Edward Santana of New York, NY, Elaine Mercado of New York, NY and Kiamesha Santiago of East Hartford; five brothers; four sisters; 15 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Calling hours will be Friday February 27, from 5-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford, followed by a 7 p.m. chapel service.
