

Dorothy G. (Kelly) Fleig, 87 of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was the widow of Kuno C. Fleig, who passed away in 2016.
Dorothy was born in St. Edouard de Frampton, Province of Quebec, Canada, on January 3, 1931. She was the fourth of the twelve children born to the late John E. and Mary (Audet) Kelly.
Dorothy and Kuno met and married in Montreal, Canada where they raised their 2 children, Peter and Louise. In the early 1960’s they immigrated to the United States and eventually settled the family in East Hartford.
Dorothy was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devoted and faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the church’s Ladies’ Guild for many years. Dorothy never missed a Wednesday night bingo game and unselfishly volunteered when any need arose at the church. In her later years, Dorothy was a member of the South End Senior Center where she made many friends.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Peter Fleig and his wife Angeline of Hebron; her daughter Louise Traska and her husband Karl of East Hartford; two grandchildren, Kellie Ford and her husband John of Manchester and David Fleig and his wife Amanda of Columbia; six great-grandchildren, Angelina Ford, Kassandra Ford, Ally Ford, Sean Ford, Liliana Fleig and Carson Fleig; three sisters, Evelyne Turbide and her husband Donald of Montreal, Canada, Agnes Kelly and her longtime companion Gilles Chagnon of Saint-Alphonse, Canada and Cecilia Kelly of Montreal, Canada as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her beloved husband of 64 years, Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers Edward, Joseph, Hubert, George and Lawrence as well as her sisters Annie Bourdon, Bertha Longchamps and Madeleine Lamanque.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Campus of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 370 May Road, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. There are no calling hours.
