

Eleanor (Kaminski) Domler, 83, of East Hartford, loving wife of 60 years to Richard A. Domler, Sr., passed away peacefully on Monday (February 13, 2012) surrounded by her caring family. Born in Hartford on May 8, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Stankiewicz) Kaminski, she had been a resident of East Hartford for over 70 years. A graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1947 Eleanor was a proud, devoted, and dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. A devout Catholic, Eleanor was a faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford where she was the coordinator of the church food bank for over 30 years and a member of the Retirees Social Club. She was a member of the East Hartford Emblem Club #341, the Glastonbury American Legion Post #56 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. Eleanor was also a recipient of ""The Eagle Award"" from the former First Federal Savings Bank of East Hartford and the ""Citizen of the Year"" award presented by the Hillstown Grange of East Hartford. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, cake decorating, sewing, tag sales and water aerobics with her senior friends. Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by a brother, Frank Kaminski of East Hartford. Along with her beloved husband, Dick, Eleanor is survived by a son, Richard A. Domler, Jr. and his wife, Leslie, of East Hartford; six daughters, Linda McGee and her husband, Tom, of East Hartford, Diane Allen and her husband, Tom, of Windsor Locks, Nancy Balavender and her husband, Ernest, of Kensington, Barbara Belske and her husband, Walter, of East Hartford, Anita Morrison and her husband, John, of East Hartford, and Judy Paleski and her husband, Stanley, of Broad Brook. She also leaves eleven special grandchildren, Michael, David, and Steven Allen, Eric and Amy Belske, Jeremy and Gregg Morrison, Justin and Kyle Domler, Ashley and Joshua Paleski; three adored great-grandchildren, Sean, Christina, and Lucas; two brothers, Peter Kaminski and his wife, Pat, of Glastonbury, Paul Kaminski and his wife, Kathy, of Hawaii; a sister, Mary Ann Kaminski of East Hartford; a sister-in-law, Dot Kaminski of East Hartford; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday (February 16th) at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, (Section 25), Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday (February 15th) from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eleanor's name may be made to St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford, CT 06118.
