

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Sullivan) Gosselin, 89, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Born in Fall River, MA on August 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Frank R. and Elizabeth A. (Fiddler) Sullivan. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River and went on to graduate from Truesdale Hospital School of Nursing. She was the beloved wife of the late Mark A. Gosselin, Sr. for 58 years. They moved to East Hartford in 1955, where they raised their family and made lifelong friends. Betty had a proud nursing career that spanned more than three decades. She was a devoted Catholic and a longtime, faithful communicant of St. Rose Church in East Hartford.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Betty will be forever missed by her five children, Mark Gosselin and wife Sherry, Kathleen Ransford and husband James, Pamela Zito and husband John, Elizabeth “Beth” Lynch and Barbara Rodegher and husband John; 14 adored grandchildren, Mallory Sousa and husband Matthew, Chelsey Gosselin, Derrick Ransford and wife Kerry, Brendan Ransford, Ryan Ransford, Carson Ransford and fiancé Hannah Smith, John Zito and wife Ashley, Drew Zito and wife Elaina, Kayla Zito and fiancé A.J. Rattigan, Alyssa Lynch, Jenna Lynch, Kyle Rodegher, Celia Couture and husband Hayden and Evan Rodegher and six cherished great-grandchildren, Kinsley Sousa, Colton Sousa, Tre Zito, Enzo Zito, Charlie Zito and Izzy Rattigan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Betty was predeceased by her brother, Frank R. Sullivan, Jr., her sister, Helen L. Monteleone and son in law, Gregory F. Lynch. The family would like to thank Duncaster’s Caleb Hitchcock Rehab for the excellent care they provided her over the last few years. She found great comfort in her stays.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 15 Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial is private and there are no calling hours. Masks must be worn for all services and all social distancing and attendance guidelines will be strictly adhered to.
