

Eunice May (Rose) Polowitzer, 73, of East Hartford, widow of William Polowitzer, Jr., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her three sons, Sunday, (January 7, 2007) at Manchester Memorial Hospital, after a 15 year battle with cancer. Born in Wigan, England, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Frances (Sharrock) Rose. After many years of service to Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Eunice, who very much enjoyed quilting, began to volunteer at the East Hartford Public Library and at the Manchester Memorial Hospital Thrift Store. Eunice is survived by her sons, William and his wife Joanne, of Colorado Springs, CO, Anthony of East Hartford, and Michael and his wife Violete, of Manchester. She also leaves her cousin, Bill Dixon, of England, who was like a brother to her. Funeral services are Wednesday, January 10, 12 noon at the D'Esopo EAST HARTFORD Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford, with burial to follow in the Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Calling hours are Wednesday morning 10 a.m.-12 noon at the funeral chapel.
